Meditation & Benefit

What is Meditation?

There are many definitions of what Meditation is and for us. In many cases it is about becoming totally here and present in the moment of now. Meditation is an invaluable tool for discovering our true nature and who we really are. Meditation can remove internal blockages, heal and accelerate our spiritual evolution. It can bring enormous sense of peace and well being. Meditation can happen through stillness, breathing, movement, connection with nature and just simply being present.

Creating a Sacred Space at Home

Creating a sacred space is like giving yourself a loving embrace from the cosmos. It’s a way of both loving ourselves and honouring the divinity that flows through all things. Our personal sacred space can be like a sanctuary to help us realign with higher consciousness, whenever we lose touch. It is somewhere that reminds us of our innate spiritual nature, resounding a vibration that takes us back to our divine beingness. It’s amazing how quickly we can flow back to divinity, if we lovingly tend a space for that very purpose. It can become a highly charged portal to the divine. Can something so divine be so simple? It can indeed. Creating a sacred space isn’t complicated at all.

The Spirituality of Space Clearing

There is a divine haven of peace and harmony within us all somewhere – even though it may, at times, be difficult to find. It’s possible to tune into it wherever we are, whatever the circumstances, although we can make it much easier for ourselves if we create a sacred space on the outside too.

The Art of Everyday Meditation

The wonderful thing about meditation is that anybody can do it. Contrary to popular belief there is no right or wrong way to practice it. It is an innate expression of the soul, and can be done anywhere, anytime, any environment, whilst engaged in anything. It can happen whilst walking in the woods, washing the laundry, swimming in the ocean, dancing, singing, chopping wood, surfing, running, sitting in a busy airport waiting for your plane.

The Power of Meditation

Right now in the world the old fear based reality has become unstable and is beginning to fracture. It’s what science calls the movement of disordering free entropy. But wherever you have that destructive energy breaking things down, the miraculous thing is, reconstructive energies take shape immediately the parts of the old consciousness fragment. It is a reordering energy science calls ‘neg-entropy’ and the Awakening Movement knows much more appropriately as unconditional love! It’s drawing us into a higher paradigm of greater energetic harmony. Meditation has the power to do this. We become channels of consciousness for the new energies to flow in.

Multi-dimensional Meditation

I felt the need to write about a truly wonderful meditational experience I had recently, particularly because I believe it demonstrates how beautiful experiences can just ‘happen’ to us if we’re aware, watching and exploring the nature of reality all the time (to me this is what meditation is anyway). It also demonstrates how vital it is to respond to that quiet inner voice and go with its direction, however odd it may at first seem. For me, it meant that what began as a quiet ‘ordinary’ afternoon in the fields, transitioned to swimming with blue whales in the 5th Dimension.

I’d had several busy days of focused work, I was pretty tired, my energy field was a degree contracted and my soul was clearly guiding towards expansiveness. So I felt to take a walk up in the countryside, not far from the Glastonbury Tor. Not the Tor itself though, because I sensed there would be too many tourists and I definitely felt the need for quietness and space. So I let the pull guide me to a clear and quiet spot, high on a valley side overlooking a wide expanse of lush green fields. It was perfect. I kicked off my sandals, lay down and began to dissolve into the earth. Very quickly, my field began to expand, I could feel the sun’s rays passing right through me, rejuvenating, re-energising and uplifting. My ears feasted on the sound of the wind rushing through the long grass. I’m not sure how long I lay like this, time had seemed to completely stop. When I eventually sat-up, all focus had expanded outwards. I looked at my arms, hands, legs and feet. I noticed my mind was not even classifying them with names. There was simple observation without opinion forming.

Is there a place for prayer within spirituality?

Meditation is an accepted tool within spirituality for catalysing our spiritual evolution. It seems prayer is becoming less and less favoured. So is there still a place for prayer on the spiritual journey and if so, what kind? Speaking as a non-religious person, I can say that frequently, I experience a deep upwelling from my soul about a situation or event. I find that by expressing those arising feelings within a meditative, interconnected state, then I can feel my meditative prayer having an organising impact on the field around me. It feels like a powerful way of bringing into being the Right Action of the universe.

Beyond the veil” guided meditation

Guided meditation can be a powerful tool to move beyond the veil of illusion. Here is a powerful meditation that can help us to taste that. It also serves as a good grounding technique as we are invited to fully return to the third dimension whilst infusing higher consciousness into every day existence.

Universal life energy attunement meditation

Meditation can be a powerful way of helping us to remove the blockages that prevent us following our authentic flow. Yesterday I experienced an amazing visual and experiential universal life energy attunement meditation that invited a powerful infusion of higher guiding consciousness.

Meditation: Six senses walk

Want to revitalise your senses? In our society there are endless distractions which tends to overload our senses – we quickly become desensitised. This makes us less aware of the truth of the moment, what the energy is really revealing to us so we don’t witness the magical wonders and synchronicity of life. So how do we turn down the noise and reconnect so that we may feel the truth and beauty once more? This six senses walk will help.

Meditating on the Inner Flame

How do we kindle the flame within? Many enlightened masters have spoken of the fire of inner transformation burning away the dross and bringing heightened states of awareness and empowerment. What are they talking about? Is this a real phenomenon and if so, how do you make your inner flame burn brightly?

Meditation in Breathing: Dolphin Breathing

Breathing is essential to vitality and good health and yet so few of us do it properly. Many of us lead sedentry lives which means we tend to only breathe using the top part of our lungs. Consequently the blood is not as fully oxygenated as it could be and our level of consciousness is thereby limited.

Meditation in movement

Do we need to still the mind to meditate? The answer to this question would depend on what you consider meditation to be? At Openhand, meditation is moving to the place of the observer of ourselves where we are none identified with mind or body in which case, neither need to be still.
